I finally completed my Bolger Nymph ... here a a few pictures from its early adventures.

On its maiden sail at Emigrant Lake in Southern Oregon - July 7, 2000.
It can carry 350 lbs of crew but sure needed a shorter tiller (since corrected).

At Hyatt Lake with a shortened tiller (18" instead of 2"11").
The sail, salvaged from a long-departed daysailor and donated by a neighbor, is 50 sq ft rather than the designed 40. The mast is stepped without any rake due to the horizontal boom instead of the designed sprit.

Detail of the rudder, gudgeon & pintel construction. As suggested in EGroup's Bolger discussion group, I used #12 eyebolts and a 1/4" brass rod. To keep the rudder from wandering, the eyes attached to the rudder are above and below the transom-attached eyes. A lanyard keeps the rod in place.

I purchased my plans through Harold Payson - you can see his catalog at http://www.instantboats.com/. I recommend his book "Building the New Instant Boats" - it was good information in general and a great help in building the Nymph.
